As I mentioned in my last post, most of my Mexico trip involved diving and I only had a couple of days to explore.
I planned a day tour to Sian Ka'an, a biosphere reserve, from Tulum. The organised tour involved a two and a half hour bumpy jeep ride to Punta Allen, the largest fishing village in Sian Ka'an.
When we finally arrived, we were treated to a view of the sandy beach covered in litter. The tour guide explained that the rubbish comes from the big cruise ships that pass by. It's sad to think that there are litter bins available on these Caribbean cruise ships yet people still choose to throw their rubbish in the ocean.
Once we were back on land, we had some free time to enjoy the warm, shallow waters at the Blue Lagoon.
